My Writing Journey

Cynthia Herron Writing 4 Comments

Yesterday I talked about encouragement. Continuing with the writing theme, this post will be a bit brief, but I wanted to share with you what I’ve been up to lately:

  1. Writing/Working on Book 2 in series
  2. Additional proposal revisions for Book 1 (yes, a little more polishing)
  3. Exploring website layouts
  4. Contemplating ACFW conference in September
  5. Blog posts
  6. Networking/Implementing marketing strategies

(Notice none of that includes family time, caring for the home front, personal appointments, or church activities.) I’m becoming a juggler, a multi-tasker, and somewhat of a superwoman (without the benefit of the red cape.)

Additional things that are on my “To Do” list:

  1. Register for (not just contemplate attending) the American Christian Fiction Writers conference
  2. Schedule author photos
  3. Schedule annual eye exam
  4. Clean my office closet
  5. Organize files
  6. Make time for ME

I’m resolving to stay encouraged by:

  1. Praying/Studying God’s Word
  2. Being thankful
  3. Remaining positive
  4. Remaining focused
  5. Spending time with family
  6. Delighting in a new bag of Starbucks

Some upcoming news:

  • On Tuesday I am being interviewed by Christian novelist Keli Gwyn for Romance Writers on the Journey. (The interview will actually post about 6:00 p.m. Pacific time Monday evening.) I hope you will stop by RWOTJ and check out the interview. Keli is a very gracious hostess and a talented author.
  • Beginning next week, I will have a new blog schedule. I will be posting on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday rather than every day. This will allow me more time to concentrate my efforts on my WIP and other writerly things. I hope you’ll continue to come back and visit!

May God continue to bless you in whatever journey you’re on today!

And especially this weekend, may our Heavenly Father also bless the wonderful earthly fathers that go above and beyond for their families.

******

Where are you at in your personal journey? What strategies are you implementing to stay focused?

I like that picture! You do have a lot on your plate, and it’s amazing how much time blogging can eat. I need to get busy and sew you a red cape–can’t have you running around ill-attired!

Go to the conference! You’ll meet amazing women, have fabulous appointments and wonder why you didn’t do it sooner. And hopefully, next year’s conference will be somehwere I can drive to and we’ll BOTH go!
