It was a pleasure last week to have author Keli Gwyn visiting. Though the deadlines for those blog drawings are past, if you didn’t get a chance to read those posts, you really should. Keli is a rising star in Christian fiction and just an all-around fabulous gal!

The winner of Friday’s drawing is Patti J! Patti has won a copy of Keli’s début novel, A Bride Opens Shop in El Dorado, California and a T.J. Maxx gift card. Congratulations, Patti! Please contact me with your mailing info.

Don’t forget, my monthly blog drawing is coming up tomorrow with the winner to be announced on Wednesday. Leave a comment or SUBSCRIBE to my blog for a chance to win, too! This month’s giveaway is a $15 Barnes and Noble gift card. Learn more about my monthly drawings and the RULES here. (Just scroll to the bottom of that post, please.)

Now, onto today’s post (or, I should say “re-post.”) Since my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary over the weekend, my blogging time took a back seat to my real-life romance.

Enjoy!

10 Reasons Why I Write Faith-Based Romance:

1.  Unions founded upon Christ have even greater accountability.

2.  I get to tackle real-life issues while applying biblical principles.

3.  I’m able to share the salvation message as my characters’ stories unfold.

4.  I can create romantic tension and gentle love scenes WITHOUT incorporating X-rated views into the bedroom.

5.  I don’t have to curse or use foul language just for the shock value.

6.  I demonstrate faith in action.

7.  My novels will be appropriate for teens through adults.

8.  I control the consequences of my characters’ choices. In other words, sin + repentance=forgiveness (but not without consequences). Sin + rejection of Christ=eternal darkness.

9.  I get to dispel the myth that Christians are cardboard cut-out, panty-waist do-gooders. (We’re just real people trying to muddle through life like everyone else EXCEPT that we have a personal relationship with a loving Heavenly Father who picks us back up when we fall down).

10.  My novels will have HAPPILY EVER AFTER! (After all, I do write ROMANCE.  And as I’ve said before, I’ll gladly leave the murder, mayhem, and sordid endings to someone else.)

    Happy anniversary, Cynthia!
I write inspirational contemporary romance because I don’t like to leave God out of any aspect of my life– my writing, included! I write contemporary romance, but I also enjoy historical and an occasional (gentle) suspense.

Beth, that’s a great point: “I don’t like to leave God out of any aspect of my life–my writing included!”

I love sharing the message of Christ. You obviously do, too. 🙂
