Recently, I mentioned some upcoming changes to the blog. Specifically, I shared my new season of busyness with you and gave a call-out to those who might be interested in guest-blogging.
Wow.
You showed up in a big way. Thank you!
Because of your overwhelming response, I now have a fantastic guest-blog line-up for the next few months.
From April through June, many wonderful authors will join us here as we chat, uplift, and encourage…and maybe nibble some cyber pie and sip a cup of coffee or two.
Totally fun and calorie-free!
This temporary shift will allow me to dive deep(er) in my writing and revisions as I race toward deadline. Speaking of which—
I have more fun news. (If you’re a newsletter subscriber, you already know because you get the inside scoop first. If you’re not yet a member of my newsletter family sign up here. Don’t forget to click on the confirmation link that will arrive in your inbox! This also applies when subscribing to my blog.)
The (provisionally titled) novels in my upcoming Welcome to Ruby series are:
Her Hope Discovered – Book One – Release date July 2019 with Mountain Brook Ink
His Love Revealed – Book Two – (Tentative) Release date June 2020 with Mountain Brook Ink
Her Faith Restored – Book Three -(Tentative) Release date March 2021 with Mountain Brook Ink
Greg Johnson (WordServe president and agent extraordinaire) gave another tidbit today in his end-of-the-month agency round-up. See if you can guess! (Scroll down to “Contract News.”) I hadn’t mentioned this little detail yet, but I’m praying big things for this series! I hope you’ll join me.
Now, though not the official Her Hope Discovered back cover blurb:
Is the sure thing worth risking for the possibility of maybe? A houseful of secrets, a newcomer to town, and an unlikely union are the catalysts for change in this This is Us meets Mayberry romance.
And to give you a glimpse of my series setting…
Nestled in the Ozarks’ hills and hollows is fictional Ruby, Missouri, a quaint, cozy town where “neighbor” is merely another word for “friend.” In the vein of Jan Karon’s beloved Mitford, Ruby will charm and delight as will her quirky, loveable characters who’ll steal your heart, but hand it right back— with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Savor your new friends’ sorrows and successes in the community where offbeat is perfect and mishaps and mayhem never tasted so good!
If you love small-town “feel-good” and have a heart for the underdog, you’ll enjoy my stories. 🙂
And, may I ask a favor?
In the next year, I’ll form my “street team.”
Ideally, a street team consists of those super-fabulous folks who like an author’s books and wants to share them with others.
A street team member is active on social media. He or she creates memes, hosts chats and posts blogs. A street team member believes in an author, her stories, and her message. A street team is integral to an author’s success and an asset to her team. Often, he/she receives ARCs (Advance Reader Copies) of the author’s books and posts reviews on major book sites and blogs. He/she spreads the word in other venues, as well.
In other words: A street team is an author’s first fan club and one that enhances an author’s trajectory.
Think you might interested in my street team?
If so, please drop me a line and let me know!
Tell me a little about yourself and any ideas you might have. I’d love to get to know you!
