For many this is a difficult week.

Religious freedom threatened. Violence abroad and at home. Health crises. The loss of loved ones.

Heartache. Hopelessness. Indecision. Human frailties thrust to the forefront—open and exposed.

The list goes on.

Sometimes, it’s all just too much.

Sometimes, you simply need a breather—a dose of fresh air to revive your senses. Something to remind you that, despite the circumstance and the sorrow of the moment, theres still the heartbeat of hope.

Hope isn’t indifference. It’s the mindset of faith—the anticipation of freedom.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen…

(Hebrews 11:1 KJV)

Today maybe your hope’s parched. Maybe it’s taken a temporary vacation.

No matter.

Right now—whatever shelf your hope rests on, I want you to pick it up, dust it off, and poke your arms into its pretty sleeves.

I’ve got some happy for you. Please indulge in my favorite blog post round-up.

Sit back and enjoy!

Seeking fresh air doesn’t mean sticking your head in the sand and pretending problems don’t exist. It means limiting TMI overload.

For instance, I know my own triggers—things that will hijack my mindset if I’m not careful.  You probably do, too.

Here are some guaranteed bad mood inducers:

  • Endless hours of non-stop television (especially the news)
  • Depressing newspaper or magazine articles
  • Angry people
  • Complainers

On the other hand, these uplift:

  • A pleasant word or act of kindness
  • Encouragement
  • Paying it forward
  • A small reward at the end of the day (chocolate, perhaps?)

Prayers for an absolutely terrific day!
