March... Spring Cleaning and an Update authorcynthiaherron.com

Ahh… Spring.

The perfect time to shift gears and shake off the dust.

After recent rain and flooding in the Ozarks, I’m speaking figuratively about the dust, but the month of March always brings a sense of relief.

Winter’s almost behind us (*fingers crossed*) and we’re a hair’s breath away from all things green and glorious. (My condolences if you’re an allergy sufferer.)

Since I spend a lot of time in my office, I’m encouraged by the bright, warm sunshine that glints across my desk. That’s the perfect motivation to write the next scene and move on to other things outdoors.

I love crafting words and creating stories, but let’s face it, when the weather’s warm and the sky’s the perfect shade of blue, I’m drawn to things beyond the keyboard. Things like nature and sound and color. I want to be part of that. Then, after a while, I’m ready to go again. I’m ready to explore new ideas and fresh plots.

It’s easier to re-enter my fictional world when I’ve fed my creativity bank.

Now, as you’ve noticed, my blog posts are arriving in your inbox on Saturday, rather than Friday. This may be the tendency for a while as I push through edits on book one in my three-book series. It’s challenging and time-consuming, but I can’t wait to share this story with you!

Thanks for extending grace.

Though blogging is near and dear to my heart, for now, I’ve had to realign priorities. As my writing career shifts, so do additional demands on my time. Oh, if I only I could split myself in two! Still, exciting things are happening and if you’d like to stay updated on all the news, please subscribe to my monthly e-newsletter. My newsletter family is a great group of encouragers and they’re privy to details beyond my weekly blog content. (Psst… My March newsletter goes out next week and there’s a giveaway!)

If we haven’t already connected on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest, I’d love to hang out with you there. Speaking of Pinterest, if you love vintage graphics and nostalgia, you may enjoy my Good Ol’ Days and Memory Lane Pinterest boards. Take a peek at the others, too, especially my Heartfelt, Homespun (brand) boards where I’ve added new pins. I’ve also created a new Writing Tips board. And if you’re curious about my upcoming novel, stay tuned. In the next few months, I’ll reveal my secret Her Hope Discovered board, which will give you a great visual for this heartwarming story and its quirky, loveable characters.

Be sure and join me over at the WordServe Water Cooler on Tuesday, March 13th, as we chat about dreaming big. I think it will encourage you.

As always, I love hearing from you! (Tell me about your kids, your dog, and what you had for supper. Share your favorite recipe or a really funny joke. Let me know what’s new with you. Yes, I do want to know.)

Keep those e-mails coming!
