He Is Risen!

In a previous post, I spoke briefly about Eureka Springs, Arkansas, a beautiful, old town that some refer to as “The Little Switzerland of the Ozarks.”

While visiting there one summer, we did as the tourists so often do and spent much of our time sightseeing.  We made a special point to visit the area’s churches, one of which was the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church.  Indeed, it was breathtaking!  The interior of the church was just as beautiful as the exterior architecture.  We sat there in silence for a few moments, reflecting upon God’s greatest gift to mankind:  Jesus!

This is a short post today, as I prepare for the Easter holiday, but I did want to extend a heartfelt holiday greeting to each of you as I say, “Hello!  Happy Easter!  He is risen!”

A Note:  Please return next week when I talk about “proposal writing.”  And no, it doesn’t have anything to do with asking for one’s hand in marriage!

A question for you to ponder…What are your favorite Easter memories?

Oh! Sunrise Services with my dad. For some reason he and I were typically the only ones who went with my mom and brothers staying home. It was hard to leave the house knowing my Easter basket was right over there, but worth it becaue I got special one-on-one time with my dad. Shiny black shoes, pink Easter dress, white tights . . . and my dad all to myself.

Thank you so much, Sarah! I am sooo excited! Jill has been a tremendous help to me. And our Easter was wonderful! Even the rain couldn’t dampen our spirits as we worshipped our risen Savior and spent time with family.

The church interior you posted is just beautiful. The clean lines and arch design are so calming, yet there is so much depicted there.
My brother and I were sent off to church every Sunday, but Easter was always special; as mentioned in previous comment–shiny black shoes, new dress or outfit. And there was always a hidden Easter basket with a chocolate bunny just waiting to have its ears eaten!

You will love Eureka Springs, Becky! Research it well on the internet; there is a wealth of information! Wear good walking shoes and prepare for a special time of sightseeing, rejuvenation, and spiritual renewal. Water bottles, sunglasses, cameras, sunscreen…don’t forget ’em. You’ll adore the out-of-the-way eateries, arts and crafts venues, and the old fashioned trolleys. Don’t forget to see the “Great Passion Play” if you have time. Enjoy! xoxo
