Friday already?
I can hardly believe Thanksgiving is past and Christmas prep is well under way at our house.
We’ve put up our Christmas tree and decked some of the halls, but I still have more decorating to do. (Stop by next Wednesday and I’ll post a few labor of love photos. Always fun stuff going on over our way!)
I’m sure you’ll be delighted to know we’ve fashioned a lovely aluminum foil tree skirt (again) to keep Miranda in check. It worked for a while last Christmas so we’ll see if it deters her this season. (Need a smile? Check out our fur baby this time last year.)
A quick recap and Friday catch-up…
Here in the Ozarks we’ve been blessed with mild temperatures and glorious sunshine. This after a week-long stint of pouring rain a week or so ago.
I’m working on new writing projects and crossing my lists and checking them twice. *wink*

Even for really good coffee. Or chocolate. Or mashed taters and gravy!)
BTW… newsletter subscribers will receive a special Christmas treat in their inboxes in a few weeks.
If you’re heading our way for the holidays check out the nearby fun:
Start your old-fashioned family fun getaway at my beloved alma mater, College of the Ozarks. C of O is a unique work-for-your-education college nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains, just moments away from Branson, Missouri. (A word of advice—bring warm duds and walking shoes because you’ll need them as you stroll around this time of year. It is the Ozarks, remember?)
Stay at the gorgeous, family-friendly Keeter Center on C of O’s campus and prepare to be pampered. (Oh—and don’t worry about where to eat. The Dobyns Dining Room has you covered. Alumni also receive a discount.)
There’s a lot to see and do on campus, and you certainly won’t want to miss the fabulous Ralph Foster Museum, an extraordinary value-packed gem that boasts antiques, artifacts, and exhibits from the Ozarks and around the world. (Such a treat!)
Other high points during your Ozarks adventure include:
- Silver Dollar City (Again—layer up and wear comfy shoes. Get ready to turn back the clock as you experience some genuine down home feel good.)
- Showboat Branson Belle (Stunning views, drool-worthy meals, and live entertainment. You may remember my husband and I celebrated our anniversary on the Belle last summer.)
- Branson Landing (A shopper’s paradise. In fact, think “shopping, dining, and entertainment” all rolled into one. Remember—you will walk. Dress warm. Wear comfortable shoes. Are you detecting a theme here?)
Here are some suggestions for more memory-making ideas. We live a stone’s throw away, but don’t forget to wave as you pass through. I’ll lift my coffee mug high in your honor.
Here’s to a great Friday and a super-blessed weekend! *clink*
