Coffee Break… Come On In!

There. Feel the love?

Nothing like a little brain fuel to fire us up on this beautiful Friday—one of my favorite days of the week.

It’s been rather hectic in my little Ozarks’ hub this week so today’s thoughts are brief.

I’m mom to a busy high school senior (see Milestones), and as you may guess, the closer we get to graduation there’s a lot to do. I’m also in the middle of a writing project with a deadline so that’s an extra ball I’m juggling.

No worries! Spring break is just around the corner and so is some much-needed downtime. I’ll step away from blogging that week, pamper myself a bit, and enjoy my family.

As we sip coffee together for a little while, I wanted to share some recent thoughts that might interest you.

• I’m absolutely thrilled that William Sirls’s The Reason will come to the big screen within the next several months. The Reason is a powerful story that took me on a breathless ride from beginning to end. If you haven’t read the book yet, I highly recommend it. (And by the way, Louis Gossett, Jr. stars as one of the main characters in the movie. Can’t wait to see this!)

• Writers will appreciate this–> How Your Character’s Failures Can Map a Route to Self Growth. Lots of wonderful info by Angela Ackerman.

• Success magazine shares great points to consider when connecting online. Hint: Quality over quantity. In 5 Tips for Successful Online Networking you’ll see what matters and why. (This article is written more with LinkedIn in mind, but really, it’s pretty applicable to most social media outlets.)

• Jane Friedman shares some thoughts about authors’ websites in Let’s Address a Common Misunderstanding About Authors’ Websites.

• This is one you’ll want to read twice–> 10 Things About Miracles via Guideposts by Diana Aydin. So good! My fave? Number five.
