Back-to-School and August Update

Hi friend ~ It’s back-to-school over our way! That’s right—we moved college gal back to the dorm last weekend, and like many of you, we’re in another season of transition.

Whew. Who knew back-to-school month could be so exhausting?

We’re now in the readjustment phase. Our baby chick is settled again on campus, and my husband and I have resumed our pre-summer routine. I shared with another mama that I’m not sure this semi-empty nest process gets easier, but staying busy helps.

I’ve hopped back in the blog saddle today to give you a brief August update and let you know what’s new from my little niche in the Ozarks.

As you know, the last several months I’ve pushed toward deadline with His Love Revealed, book two, in my Welcome to Ruby series.

I’m not going to fib. Because I’ve had so many other things on my plate, this deadline’s challenged me.

Since January, my daddy’s health has continued to decline, and it’s been a series of back-and-forth trips to hospitals and care centers. Add to that some other things I’ll share in next month’s newsletter and a book deadline, and it’s a recipe for physical and mental exhaustion.

I decided to take a summer sabbatical from my newsletter and blogging so I could focus on family and writing. Sometimes, as much as we’d love to do it all, we have to prioritize and realize we’re not super heroes.

I look forward to eventually getting back on schedule, but until then, I post daily updates on my Facebook page, as well as in my Facebook Readers’ Group. You can also catch me on Twitter and Instagram, and if you haven’t visited me on Pinterest lately, I’ve added lots of new pins to various boards. I hope you’ll stop by and take a peek.

More fun…

The American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) conference is fast approaching. This year’s national conference is in the great state of Texas, home to all things big. I look forward to writing workshops and fellowship with friends in a few weeks. If you’re heading that way, be sure and let me know. I’d love to catch up!

Finally, if you’ve read Her Hope Discovered, would you please consider posting a book review to any of the major book sites? I’d so appreciate it.

Thanks so much for joining me on the journey.
