At Calvary

Sometimes I wonder if I’m too “preachy” in my posts.  It truly isn’t my intention.  I just feel that, as Christians, it’s our mission to share the message of salvation.  Perhaps, there is one reading this blog post today that doesn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  Maybe you don’t understand what it’s all about or how to ask Jesus into your heart.  It’s really very simple.  (See my April 8th post “Victory.”)

Romans 10:9 (NIV) tells us, “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”  If you still have some questions, you may certainly e-mail me privately.  I would love to share the TRUE meaning of Easter with you!

For those of you who already have a personal relationship with the Lord, you know the immense joy that brings.  No one else will ever love us the way He does.  Our parents, spouses, and children may love us unconditionally, but still, it’s not the same, perfect love that our Savior has for us today, tomorrow, and always.

I think about His feelings for us–his creation–quite often.  I think of how He endured the intense pain of those stripes upon His back.   I envision the cruel crown of thorns placed upon His precious brow, and I am overcome with emotion at the thought of nails piercing His beautiful hands and feet.  The thought that Jesus literally laid down His life for us is almost too much to wrap my mind around even still.

In the movie, “The Passion of the Christ,” we’re given some idea of the torture our Savior went through.  We also witness the final outcome–victory over the grave and death!

It’s my prayer today that even at the sake of being redundant, we contemplate the cross and the message behind it.  Let us never forget the sacrifice that was made on that life-changing day at Calvary!

Happy Easter, everyone!  He is risen!

A question for you to ponder…We know Jesus is TRUTH.  Why do you think faith-based fiction is so important?

Faith-based fiction is important for many reasons. It can gently plant seeds of what faith is, it can answer questions of what a faith-based life looks like, and its first impression is not “churchy,” which some might reject. Thank you for sharing His words of hope with your readers. And I don’t think you should judge your work as to whether or not it is “preachy.” You must write what the Lord has given you to say, and leave it in His hands. We may never know how many lives are touched and drawn to Him by sharing His unconditional love. He is risen!
