Today I’d like to share a little about me. Some things I may have talked about in previous posts, but a few tidbits may be new.
Okay, here’s the scoop:
- I’m a spirit-filled gal who’s not afraid to show it. I believe there’s only one way to our Heavenly Father and that’s through Jesus Christ, His Son.
- Red is my favorite color. It reminds me of my salvation that was purchased for a price.
- Choice of drink is iced tea with barely there sugar and a splash of lemon. Of course, Starbucks (the Sumatra blend or something equally as bold) is a close second.
- I’m a huuuge romantic. Think “Magnificent Obsession” with Jane Wyman and Rock Hudson. An oldie but a goodie with a wonderful message.
- I love to laugh. Kudos to Lucille Ball.
- Old T.V. show faves: The Andy Griffith Show, I Love Lucy, The Waltons, Fantasy Island, and The Love Boat. Newer faves: Hmmm…To be honest, I don’t watch much television now, but Minute to Win It seems fun.
- I despise the grubs that nourish the moles that plunder our yard. And yes, short of dynamite, we’ve tried everything to rid ourselves of both.
- Despite the above bullet, I tend to be a positive thinker. I prefer to see the glass half-full, as opposed to half-empty. One day when the Lord returns, my leafless plum trees and the 50 tulip bulbs that the moles just dined on won’t even matter a hill of beans.
- I pen heartfelt, homespun, contemporary Christian romance novels. You’ll never catch me writing about chainsaw-welding mashers with mayhem on their minds.
- My favorite time of the year is fall. Love the blanket of color and the taste of chili on a nippy afternoon.
- I collect many things: miniature teapots, all things apple, old cookbooks, and gingerbread peeps. Sometimes, I even collect dust bunnies just for the pure joy they give me.
- I’m a PK, a deacon’s wife, and Mom to two kiddos 10 years apart. And who says life is boring?
- I’m crazy over crab legs soaked in butter. I never met a mashed potato and a tub of gravy I didn’t like. I don’t drink milk, but I adore veggies.
- I don’t mind cleaning toilets. It’s unloading the dishwasher that’s the real pain.
- My Bible hero is the apostle Paul. We think our prisons are tough? Go figure.

Okay, now you know a little more about me. What’s something I don’t know about you?

I enjoyed watching The Love Boat and The Waltons. I empathized with John Boy’s dream of being a published author.

Me, too! That was one of the things that drew me in, Keli. That, and life with his grand family!
Fun list, Cynthia! I love to watch Andy Griffith, too, and I agree about fall. I bet the colors are extra beautiful in the Ozarks!

My goodness, yes! The ribbon of mountains that surround the Branson area are especially lovely then! And Harold Bell Wright’s “The Shepherd of the Hills” is a must read. It captures the essence of life in the Ozarks during a different time, but it gives you an idea of the beauty here…
Hi Cynthia,
What a creative, fun glimspe into who you are!
I grew up watching the Waltons so the show has a special place in my heart, and I love Fall too. Unfortunately Fall in Florida is vastly different from Fall in Connecticut. 🙂
I didn’t know they made gingerbread Peeps!? Mmmmm….I’ll be on the lookout next year. 🙂
I’d say my bible hero, after Jesus, is Peter, with Daniel at a close second. I think Peter is more like me and Daniel is more like my hubby.
I hope you have a blessed weekend.

Gingerbread peeps…short for gingerbread “people”. 🙂 I collect all kinds and they grace my laundry room wall. Takes the edge off of washing/folding.
And I agree…Peter and Daniel, heroes for sure! Hugs to you, Kerry, and prayers for a great weekend!
It’s so fun learning more about you, Cynthia. My favorite season is
also Fall, the vibrant colors and smell of apples and cinnamon is so
comforting. Thanks for the great post! 🙂

Yes, I’ll continue to share a little more about me in the coming months. Happy weekend, Tanya! 🙂
Enjoyed learning some new things about you. I’ve never had crab legs, and pass the milk please–and the Ovaltine/Ghirardelli hot chocolate or white mocha mix/Nestle’s Quik…

As I’ve joked several times today, I’m slowly edging out of “stealth mode”, Patti! And what do you mean, you’ve NEVER had crab legs? Oh, my! I’m pretty sure they’ll have those in Heaven. 🙂
Love your list. Red is my favorite color, too. I can’t claim the same reason, but it still is. Maybe it’s because I love the Red Sox. 🙂 I’m also quite the romantic, probably because I’m a musician. But the Romantic era of music is my favorite. What about Dick Van Dyke? I loved his show, too, along with Lucy and Gilligan’s Island. Fall is also my favorite time of year. We were married in the fall. I think my “human” Bible hero is Peter. I feel like him so much of the time. I’m impulsive and tend to say what I think (or even sometimes without thinking).
Author
I sometimes revel in the simpler times. But with change comes opportunity and growth and maturation as a believer.
Peter, huh? I’m not quite as impulsive, but I think at times, “impulsive” might be good if we sense we’re being guided by the Holy Spirit. Peter had a lot to learn, but he taught us a lot, too.
Thanks for your comments! 🙂
