To My Readers…
2013 has been a busy year.
I started new writing projects and revised others.
I researched.
I took some time off to care for my Mama as she recovered from open heart surgery.
Then… I returned to a three-day-per-week blogging format.
In September, I attended the ACFW conference.
Recently, I’ve braved this finicky weather and prepared for the holidays.
As time has ticked by, I’ve prayed about and re-evaluated goals. I’m not sure what God has in store for me in the coming months, but the words trust and faith continue to resonate.
The life of a writer is interesting and complex. There are mountaintop moments and lonesome valleys. There are days we’re on fire and there are weeks we’re stagnant.
Those who write “get” the odd hours, the eccentricities, and the creative spurts. Writers understand “normal” is relative.
We’re a protective lot when it comes to our craft. We’ll defend the written word and the right to share it.
We’ll rejoice over accomplishments and cry over heartbreak. Always, we’ll muddle through, up, over, and around. Because of one beautiful word: tenacity.
And because I’m a Christian, I write with Truth in mind.
You must understand, though, I’m fallible. I stumble. When I do, please pardon me.
I’m a believer, but I’m imperfect.
Life in the Ozarks…
Marches on.
Though change is tough at times, I welcome opportunity.
As you know, I’m a see-the-glass-half-full kind of gal and I embrace tomorrow with childlike giddiness.
While this ol’ world teeters on a balancing beam, I’m confident. God’s got this. If you’d like to know how I know that, you can check out this post.
I look forward to the future.
Since I know how the best story ends, the rest is gravy.
Okay. Maybe with a few lumps!
Thank you, dear friends, for joining me in my writing journey. I pray you always leave my cyber home encouraged and uplifted.
You are loved.
May you have a very Merry CHRISTmas and a joyous New Year!
(See you back on January 6, 2014.)

Enjoy your break, Cynthia! 🙂
I’m not taking too much time off over the holidays, but I will have a few days of hanging out and having fun with family. Yay! As for what’s ahead for me in 2014…I have no idea! I mean, a few things are on the schedule and I have a second book releasing, which will be fun, but other than that, life feels a bit up in the air at the moment. That’s okay though…it leaves room for surprise and unexpected joys.

Melissa, three cheers for family! I have no doubt that 2014 will be a super year for you! Merry Christmas, friend!
Thank you for the inspiration you are.
Loved this post, Cindy. Thank you for opening your heart. Your comment about “And because I’m a Christian, I write with Truth in mind.” just made me think about God’s truth-bearers in Scripture. So many of them were called to carry that truth in places where they were very alone and even to people that didn’t want to hear it. Other times, God opened the hearts of the recipients for radical change. Hold fast to the call that God has equipped you with – He knows the plans He has for you…for your good…for His glory.
Love you, treasured friend.

Emily, just the words I needed to hear today! They are a balm to my soul.
And I love you, too, dear one!
