For those of you who write, you know a huge part of the process is the journey. For me, I began writing “stories” at a very young age. I continued writing throughout high school, with a brief lull during my college years due to time constraints. (Term papers don’t count–kinda hard to focus on penning romantic tales when your grade’s riding on the next thesis.)
After graduation I began a career in my chosen field of study, and it was indeed a thrill when I was able to write again.
Over the years, there have been many life events and detours, and several times I have shed more than a tear or two over each milestone. God always gave me little (and sometimes really big) encouragers along the way, and I somehow knew that giving up wasn’t in His life plan for me. And let me just say here, that giving up isn’t in God’s life plan for anyone. He may shift our thinking a bit–He may alter our course, help shift our focus, or mesh your plan with His for the greater good.
(One of the posts I did a few weeks ago was Can…Feel the Power! I talked about the power of positivity and how influential both negative and positive thinking can be.)
I’ve spoken about perseverance, too, in previous posts, as I think about the Apostle Paul when I’m tempted to complain about how hard life can be. Also, as I’ve mentioned before, I’m an encourager by nature, and I absolutely believe that we are here on earth to make a difference. If we weren’t, then the Lord would take us home this very instant! The truth is we each have a purpose.
For some of us, that purpose takes some revision. For others, it’s very clear what our life goal is. For me, I’ve always known that my Heavenly Father was taking me on a journey leading to a most glorious destination. No, there are certain aspects of the trip I’ve not always liked, certain paths I wished I wouldn’t have had to take. But if we truly believe in Jesus Christ and the promises of the Father, then we know we are like our own beloved WIP. He allows us to be broken, melted, bent, mended, refined, and made anew! Ultimately, for His glory, but with our own heart’s desire in mind as well!
Whatever journey you’re traveling today, I pray good traveling weather over you. I pray God’s ever-present watchcare. I pray for strength during the bumps, detours, and roadblocks that may pop up from time to time. You CAN do it! For Christ has already paved the way.

A question for you to think about…Looking back on your own life journey, what–or–who has remained your “constant”? (For those of us who are Christians, the answer is automatic. I’d like to know your second biggest influencer.)

Cynthia, my husband is my constant. He believed in me long before I believed in myself and is a source of continual support and encouragement. I’m blessed, and I know it. 🙂

Keli, I would have to echo that! My husband would always say, “You’re going to do this, dear! Not “if”–“WHEN.”
I’ve got a husband like that, too, and I can echo Keli’s post in that regard. He’s always been my cheerleader.
