Life in my neck of the woods is rarely dull.
For instance, over the past seven days or so, we’ve dealt with frigid cold, sleet, snow, and ice. Yuck.
Schools have closed due to inclement weather and conditions have put a serious dent in folks’ holiday prep.
Next week, I intend to play catch-up and take care of things I’ve had to place on hold.
And then… I’m hibernating for a while!
In fact, I’m on the countdown. A countdown to Christmas bliss…
Ahhh!
What I’m doing to set the tone:
-
Listening to CHRISTmas music
-
Lighting scented candles
-
Gleaning favorite recipes
-
Steering clear of naysayers
-
Keeping a hopeful heart
I’m looking forward to some much-needed R & R and downtime with my family.
Over the holiday, my version of Christmas bliss will likely include:
Naps
Writing
Movies
Reading
Office projects (fun ones!)
Coffee
And…
Chocolate, of course!
Oh…and have I mentioned we’re getting a cat? Not sure how blissful that will turn out to be, but we’ve not had a pet since our precious black Lab passed away, and we’re looking forward to adding a new furry addition to our family!
(I might add: I know nothing about cats. Yikes! Thank Heaven for Google! ) 🙂

With care of the dogs as an ongoing time-and-labor-intensive priority, there’s not much we can do besides putting up a small tree (well, we didn’t take down last year’s) and watching for Christmas specials on TV.
Celtic Woman has a great one this year. Barbara enjoyed the Barbra Streisand “Return to Brooklyn” concert…
I, on the other hand, find a three-hour Streisand concert a great new fit for the enhanced interrogation toolbox.
Where would we be without variety?
