This morning as I focused on my WIP, I contemplated the beauty in simple things.
The novels I write are about simple, ordinary people.
I create everyday folks, but with complexities of their own. I write about small town life, day-to-day living, and the quest for happiness. My characters learn as I do, finding joy in quiet blessings, heartfelt prayer, and a relationship with Christ.
Romance is a key element in my stories, but the heart of my novels is the message of Christ. I write about the journey my characters travel as they search for God’s will in their lives.
In a previous post, I explained why I write Christian fiction. I love to add romance to the mix because I am a huge romantic at heart! I also want to honor God through my work and point others to Him.
I get a real charge from seeing the beauty in everyday things—a child’s smile, the sparkle of newfound love, a sunset in summertime.
The real tragedy is when we grow complacent about simple things.
It’s my prayer I never do.

A question for you to ponder…
What simple things do you find beauty in?

Wonderful sentiments. Right now I find beauty in the birds returning for spring. Their chatter livens up our backyard!

I agree! I am so thankful for eyes to see and ears to hear!
