Spring has arrived in my corner of the Ozarks and the valleys, mountains, and meadows are lush and green against a backdrop of endless blue sky.

It’s always invigorating—this reawakening of musty earth mingled with winter’s last breath and spring’s first yawn. I don’t look forward to the arrival of spring storms, but I adore the seasonal shift from the bleak to the vibrant.

Spring resets my inner clock. I rethink priorities and consider new goals. I ponder and I plan. I anticipate.

Just like the seasonal shift, I want to ease into spring with feet firmly planted, yet ever-mindful of what it means. A palette of options. A host of choices. The birth of dreams.

Sometimes new is frightening. It can paralyze or it can motivate.

Today let’s think in terms of the positive.

To get the ball rolling, here are three happy thoughts for your bright spring day:

1. Need ideas for all that leftover Easter ham? Check out these wonderful recipes over at Midwest Living. You’ll love ’em! (I want to try the quiche. Yum! I don’t do eggs very much, but this recipe sounds easy and deelish.) See? Guaranteed happy thought!

2. Writers, you know how daunting those book blurbs can be. Well, author Melissa Tagg demystifies the process, making it seem doable—and even fun. Are you smiling yet?

3. And if you’re planning a trip over my way, Silver Dollar City will make you think happy thoughts.  World Fest is about to begin! Check out some of my previous posts.
