Here in the Ozarks we know how to celebrate and we know how to have fun.

Curious?

Well then, please join me as I recap our Showboat Branson Belle Anniversary!

If you’re familiar at all with Branson, Missouri, you know it’s one of the top tourist destinations in the United States. It’s a place where families can come and relax, bond, and have a ball doing a variety of things within a relatively short time, but if you have longer—that’s even better!

Branson’s the perfect place to celebrate all sorts of special events (including wedding anniversaries) so when our big day drew closer, my husband and I made plans to take a dinner cruise on the fabulous Showboat Branson Belle. We’d been once, but it was about fifteen years ago and we wanted to relive the experience.

Wow. It didn’t disappoint.

We reserved a spot in the premium seating section (the Paddle Wheel Club Room), which I highly recommend. For the higher upgrade, we were seated a little earlier and we had great views, additional dinner selections, and extra pampering. (But rest assured—every guest on the Branson Belle is well taken care of.)

Our table—a booth—faced the windows and offered an up-close-and-personal view of one of the giant paddle wheels, as well as stunning views of Table Rock Lake.

Tina, our server, was friendly, witty, and charming. She was a mom, too, and we connected immediately.

Take a stroll with me now as I recreate the day for you.

Annnd…we’re off!

We’d only eaten a light breakfast, so by the time our meal arrived, we were more than ready to indulge. (Check out menu selections here.) I tried the prime rib steak (the eight ounce portion—medium well done). My husband had the larger eighteen ounce portion. Our son chose the same, but our daughter ordered the mahi mahi. We selected different desserts so we could sample each other’s. (And there was no worrying about calories—we were celebrating!)

After dinner, Tina directed us outside where we enjoyed some lovely deck time. It was a hot day (with lots of serious sun) but there was a nice shaded area where folks could sit and relax and simply take in the views if they liked.

The magnificent Chateau On The Lake Resort and Spa was visible in the background and I added that to my Things to do in the future list.

Captain Bobby

One of the best things about the Showboat Branson Belle experience (in addition to the dinner and cruise) was the phenomenal entertainment. The level of talent was incredible and there was something for everyone—singing, dancing, tapping, and a magician (Christopher James) who was amazing! Our family saw star-studded performances by Cassandre Haygood, The Rhythms, and The ShowMen.

When you consider what the price of a ticket includes, the Showboat Branson Belle offers quite a lot for the money. (The one thing we would have liked, but chose not to purchase, was the photo taken by a crew member as we initially boarded the Showboat. I did feel that $25 was too steep for a 5 x 7 photo—although the little light-up cardboard picture frame was mighty pretty. There was absolutely no pressure to buy, though it was a great shot of our family.)

Overall rating of our recent Showboat Branson Belle experience: 9.5/10

Pack up the family and head on over!
